Requirements for a law degree at the Viadrina
You have already successfully taken the first hurdle by passing
the Abitur (or equivalent).
What else do you need to have?
- An interest in the law
- Ambition, diligence, patience and a will
- Written and verbal eloquence
- Abstract and logical thinking,
- Willingness to learn a foreign language
- The ability to work independently,
that goes much deeper than what you see on TV courtroom shows.
that is strong enough to keep studying until the examinations –
and then to pass them.
to bring order to the chaos of a conflict, to classify pieces of information according to their legal relevance, and to communicate the result to others.
because legal rules must be implemented consistently – although they must sometimes also be called into question.
as a basis for acquiring the necessary level of technical (legal) language proficiency.
because just going to lectures will not be enough for this work-intensive course, which will require a lot of time and self-discipline.
